Location: Site Name: Buddy Todd Park Address: 3000 Mesa Dr, Oceanside, CA 92054
Directions to the event: Take your favorite route to I-5 and head north or south to Oceanside. Once in Oceanside, take the Mission Ave off ramp and head east, (away from the ocean) to Mesa Dr and turn right, around the 7/11. Follow Mesa Dr to the park on the left, look for the pavilions.
Event description: To all and sundry gentles of the Baronies of Calafia and Glydenholt, it has come to the notice of the Canton of Summergate, which lies betwixt the borders of these two bastions of Caid, of raids and plundering upon our lands. To which ends we call upon the stout of heart, noble of figure and generally one and all, to stand assurance to the friendship which we share and stem the tide of mischief. There will be in the Canton of Summergate, upon the field of Buddy Todd, (3000 Mesa Dr., Oceanside, CA 92054) a challenge of arms, to stand beside the border and exchange blows in a Par d’arms. Your preparations may begin upon the site at 8:00am on March 10, 2012. Court will be held at 10:00am or at the Barony’s pleasure. Knowing that such mighty feats wear upon the body, a light repast will be available to the populous, provided by the Calafian Equestrian Guild. However, if you need to start your day with sustenance, the Thrown Weapons Guild will be holding a breakfast sale. But Wait! There’s more! If your memory serves you from 12th Night, the gentles with that delicious brick oven will provide tasty morsels as well. The day’s events will conclude with the setting sun or about 5:00pm. Knowing that the ways of thieving hoards are not bold and chivalrous, a game to hone your stealthier inclinations will be provided for your pleasure. In addition, because all great deeds need a great story, a scroll of great proportions will be available so you may add your bit of the saga which will then be read in closing court. Other requirements of the day’s activities will include additional fields of contest for heavy, rapier, unarmored and youth to enjoy. Also a pavilion of suitable size for all to enjoy their pursuit of artly endeavors.
Site fee(s): $5.00 for members, and $10 for non-members (includes surcharge). Children 8 and under are guests of the Canton.
